Slamdance Film Festival 2009

A pitch-black comedy about a disaffected young man named Jamie Dent, who wants desperately to make a friend, but his poor sense of humor and lack of social boundaries make this difficult. One day Jamie experiences a chance encounter with JC Crump; Jamie mistakenly believes that befriending JC will alleviate his social ineptitude. He is wrong.

The out-of-control, bright green moss growing out of the grout in his shower is the perfect visual complement to a character whose loneliness and disconnection are exacerbated by an extreme, pathological need for validation. Dark, painful, and very very funny.
